Tighnabruaich
and the Cowal peninsula provide some of the most stunning scenery in the
world, it is the perfect holiday location for you to relax and unwind. Tighnabruaich
is ideally located to provide that remote feeling, whilst still within easy
distance of many interesting places to visit.
The village of Tighnabruaich and nearby Kames also provide a good selection
of shops for all your needs during your stay, a post office, gift shops,
an art gallery, pubs, cafes and a fantastic Bistro.
The village centre is within 2 minutes' walk from Anchorage House and includes the following: -

Sailing, Golf, Cycling, Fishing and Walking are popular pastimes in the
area. Tighnabruaich has its own Sailing School and Golf Course, as well as
a professionally skippered boat that will allow you to cruise the Kyles of
Bute for sight seeing, wildlife spotting or fishing trips.
There are a number of well sign posted walks in the area that take in the panoramic views and some beautiful, unspoilt beaches.
Tighnabruaich is renowned for its friendly, polite locals and peaceful, laidback life style.

Sports and ActivitiesQuadmania - Quadmania Activity Centre (Quad Biking and Clay Target Shooting in Blairmore) Ardlamont Equestrian centre – Tel 01700 811596 for information (horse riding tuition, pony trekking and all things equestrian). Local Places of Interest to VisitMillcroft Lavendar - local lavendar farm. Many gift ideas manufactured using locally grown lavender including a tea shop and locally made ice cream. PS Waverley - the last sea-going paddle-steamer in the world. The old Clyde steamer calls in at Tighnabruaich pier throughout the summer months. The famous fishing village of Tarbert on Loch Fyne is a short drive and ferry trip away, spend a day here to visit the fish quay and take in the atmosphere of the vibrant village. Freshly caught sea food is available and many other interesting places to visit, walk up to the old castle for a wonderful view of the harbour and lower Loch Fyne Historical castle at Inveraray Inverary Jail - award winning visitor attraction. Historical jail that is well worth a visit. Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute. A day out to visit the town of Rothesay and explore the Isle of Bute with a visit to Mount Stuart House. Local RNLI Lifeboat Station, watch it launch from your window. Gift shop open daily and the station can be visited to see first hand the important job this does.
